The majority of men have no concept of how tough women are required to be. The male body is much simpler, more predictable, and lacks the hormonal fluctuations women live with daily, beginning around the age of 12.
I realize men have hormonal shifts as they progress through life, however women’s hormone levels are in a constant state of change. Every day of our cycle is different, therefore we are a different woman every day of our cycles. Being adaptive is a requirement for us to thrive.
We have a greater susceptibility to pain, inflammation, infections, an imbalance of flora and abnormal tissue growths. Additionally, these fluctuations affect not only the appearance of our bodies (water retention, swollen breasts, etc) but our facial features as well.
Females are fragile creatures, and we must remain active and aware in order to keep our bodies in a state of balance. The truth is, although there are aspects of being a woman which are perpetually frustrating, I feel everything about the female body is truly miraculous. Our bodies are designed to create and give birth to life. There are many steps we can take to keep all aspects of our bodies in a state of harmony.

Have you ever felt had a bladder infection or, in other words, as though a bee was stinging your entire lady region? Have you ever had abdominal pain so severe, you remained in a fetal position for hours or days on end?
Allow me to share with you a deeply personal story about how I wasted over $2,000 on trips to doctors, tests, herbs and cleanses, all in an attempt to rid my body of a tenacious female-related problem which was easily and quickly resolved once I took a natural approach. My body was angry at the world for almost an entire year, and I was often a perpetual grump because I was in a state of constant discomfort. I was a There were countless sleepless nights, episodes of sobbing on the floor and desperate moments of just wanting to medicate myself into another world.
For the majority of a year, I almost despised being female. My problem began after taking antibiotics in several consecutive intervals in order to battle a strep throat infection, and then shortly thereafter a persistent bladder infection. By the third round of antibiotics, the throat infection was gone but I had an entirely new set of problems. It had absolute nothing to do with how I took care of myself.
After almost a year of misery, the heavens parted as Fem-Dophilus entered my life. This product put a stop to my symptoms when absolutely nothing else did. The only other product which helped me at all was an oxygen product (which I will discuss in another article), but even that did not eradicate my symptoms completely. My body was desperate to regain its balance of flora, which is exactly what this product provided.
Fem-dophilus is based on extensive research, and it actually works. It contains two strains of bacteria which are present in the bladder and vaginal wall. It worked for me, and it has worked for many other women who suffered with frustrating lady issues and had lost all hope.
Energy, Sex & Fertility
I wish I could write a love letter to the maca plant. I cannot count every reason for my fondness for it on all of my fingers and toes. It is that special. While it is equally as beneficial to men as it is to women, it has helped so many female-related issues for countless women, therefore I felt it appropriate to share under this section of my site.
I have received the following benefits from incorporating maca into my diet: I do not retain as much water during my period as I once did, I often feel like the energizer bunny (minus the anxiety) when I once felt out of fuel all of the time, I no longer exist in a fog for the first hour I am awake and I swear it has even reduced my menstrual-induced breakouts.
During my final semester of college, I was diagnosed with adrenal fatigue. I had been existing on four hours of sleep a night for weeks on end, eating fast food too often and forcing myself to remain awake by consuming ungodly amounts of espresso. As a result, I began experiencing a rapid heartbeat, nervousness and insomnia.
I began taking a plethora of herbs and adrenal cortex supplements to remedy my symptoms, but the only supplement which brought about a significant result was maca. I sincerely credit it for having an important role in the rebalancing of not only my adrenal function, but my entire system.
Maca is a superfood rich in amino acids and b vitamins, and is considered a complete protein. It helps balance the entire endocrine system, and it does wonders for girls and women with hormonally-related issues ranging from acne, moodiness, PMS, fatigue to fertility problems. I don’t have any serious hormonal-related issues, but it has improved my periods. An acquaintance of mine swore it snapped her out of her postpartum depression and balanced her almost immediately.
I will be riding the maca train for as long as possible! I recommend gelatinized maca, as it is significantly more concentrated and digestible.
Oh Holy Cramps, Oh Holy Mood!
Do you suffer from moderate to severe cramps with every menstrual cycle? Do you feel as though your uterus is screaming at you, and do you find yourself pleading with your lady parts to just calm down? Are you in a fetal position with a heating pad for the first two days of every monthly period?
Forget the Midol, Ibuprofen and tranquilizers. Nature has two amazing gifts for you: Evening Primrose Oil and Raspberry Leaf Tea. You may never have to suffer from debilitating monthly cramps again. You will be happier, and your boyfriends and husbands will thank me.
Evening Primrose Oil
In addition to relief from menstrual cramps, Evening Primrose Oil has also relieved the following symptoms for me: sore breasts the week leading up to my period, cycle-related breakouts and cycle-related moodiness. My jawline no longer breaks out as badly, and I no longer retain as much water. I can tell an obvious difference each time I neglect to take it prior to and during my period.
Many women do not consider, however, that a small dosage such as 500 mg of Evening Primrose Oil is oftentimes not enough to have a considerable effect on menstrual issues. In my experience, as well as the experience of several of my girlfriends who I have shared this supplement with, 1000-1500 mg per day seems to be ideal in terms of results. Women with polycystic syndrome often require much higher doses. I had to experiment with the dosage for a while, but found that 1,300 mg daily was ideal for my body.
Rich in omega 6 fatty acids and GLAs, Evening Primrose Oil provides many health and beauty benefits unrelated to menstrual issues. It is great for the skin’s clarity, the health and luster of the hair, and the immune and cardiovascular systems! Additionally, many women also use it to increase their cervical mucous when trying to conceive.
Raspberry Leaf Tea
Although rich in vitamins, minerals and tannins, it is not entirely known what is specifically responsible for its profound calming and relaxing effect on the female reproductive system. Not only is it beneficial to women during their menstrual cycles, many women have successfully used the tea to stimulate fertility, as well as throughout their pregnancies to calm and strengthen their uterus, thereby assisting in a smoother delivery.
When I am faithful with taking Evening Primrose Oil and drinking this lovely concoction, I forget my period is on its way, for I experience only slight cramping for a few hours on the first day of my cycle. If I do neither of those things, my cramps are are much more bothersome, and I feel like doing nothing more than lying on my couch with a heating pad.
If you suffer from cramps every month, please give this tea a try and let me know how it works for you.
